Birding Costa Rica: Pura vida!

After six weeks of preparation, my father and I embarked on our non-stop flight from Boston-Logan to Costa Rica on April 6. Equipped with extensive birding knowledge, we observed numerous bird species including the Black Vulture and Turquoise-browed Motmot. Our guide Alex introduced us to the diverse local wildlife and ecosystems on fascinating roadside stops. Throughout the journey, we encountered various birds, each sighting enriching our experience in the vibrant landscapes and wildlife habitats of Costa Rica.

A New Year of Birding

With only an hour to spare before sunset, it’s not exactly prime time for birding. Nonetheless, my Dad and I don our binoculars and head out to Rosemary Brook, a local marshy stream, to look for some ducks.
